As a manufacturer of ship manoeuvring control systems, Navis has been producing steering control systems since 2002. Despite the seeming simplicity of the system, Navis applied its experience in ship-motion control to create a new generation of rudder control system — an adaptive and intelligent steering gear control system. Its intelligent automation monitors the running status of crucial elements and decides independently how to fix a fault, for example by starting an auxiliary steering gear pump or switching to a backup control unit. The adaptive nature of the STCS5000 checks the operating efficiency of the steering gear and, where necessary, corrects the rudder-turning algorithms itself for better gear performance without operator involvement. The plug-and-play system is supplied pre-configured and tuned at the factory, so you only need to connect the devices with cables — no onboard calibration or adjustment required.
