NavDP4000 Series

Since the company founders' first experience in the early 1980s with automatic control systems for hovercraft — a type of vessel with far faster dynamics than the majority of offshore vessels — Navis has kept its focus on controlling vessel motion. Over the following decades the company built an extensive library of more than 100 six-degrees-of-freedom mathematical models, now used in training facilities worldwide as part of full-mission ship-handling simulators.

This expertise led to the introduction of the first NavDP system in 2000. Today more than 600 DP systems operate aboard vessels across the major oil & gas offshore regions, and Navis also delivers dynamic positioning solutions for many marine segments beyond offshore applications.
