Aids to Navigation (AtoN)

Safe vessel navigation through port approaches, channels, and coastal waters depends on a reliable, well-maintained, and standards-compliant network of Aids to Navigation. KDU provides end-to-end AtoN solutions — covering equipment supply, installation, commissioning, remote monitoring, and long-term maintenance — ensuring that port authorities and coastal administrations can meet their obligations for navigational safety with confidence.

Our AtoN portfolio encompasses marine lanterns, buoys, beacons, racons, AIS AtoN, and foghorns, sourced from leading manufacturers and deployed in compliance with the IALA Maritime Buoyage System and IALA Recommendation E-200 series governing AIS AtoN performance and placement. All infrastructure is designed to fulfil the obligations set under SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 13, which places a statutory duty on contracting governments to provide and maintain AtoN services adequate to the density and risk profile of maritime traffic in their waters. Remote monitoring and control systems provide operators with continuous, real-time status across the entire AtoN network — enabling rapid fault detection, maintenance prioritisation, and regulatory reporting.
