KDU's Berthing Aid System provides vessel masters, pilots, and port operators with the accurate, continuous guidance data needed to execute safe and efficient berth approaches under all weather and visibility conditions.

Using laser and camera based ranging technology, the system continuously measures vessel distance from the berth face and approach speed at multiple points along the hull — delivering data simultaneously to large-format visual displays on the quay, the vessel's bridge, and the port operations centre. Environmental condition monitoring adds wind speed, direction, and water current data to the operational picture, while integrated alarm and warning functions alert all parties to unsafe approach parameters in real time. As ports increasingly integrate smart technologies, the Berthing Aid System forms a key data input layer — connecting seamlessly with PMIS, VTS, and port IoT platforms for fully coordinated vessel berthing operations.
